More information needed - is it the realtime.txt file that you can't get uploaded? If you've ticked all the boxes but the file doesn't get uploaded, then the usual reason is that you've not specified the ftp directory correctly. If you can't work out what the problem is, turn on ftp logging, and the realtimeftplog.txt file may give some help.

A link to your web site would be useful.

What exactly do you want to customise, and in what way?

There are a few tips in the wiki about modifying the supplied templates - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Customised_templates

If you want to change colours, you need to edit the weatherstyle.css. Unfortunately the file isn't documented (something I've been meaning to do) but it should be reasonably clear which sections affect which utems.
