Monthly Rain Total Error

Post by Cambium »

Software was doing perfect for 7 weeks. I decided to do a restore computer back to 4 weeks ago.
Now I notice the monthly rain total is 4x more then what it should be and the yearly too. Everything else is fine.

August we had around 9". This month we had about 5.50 so far.

How can I fix the monthly/yearly rainfall total? Is it just a matter of going into the data base and doing it manually? If so, which and why did this happen? Also let me know if you need other screen shots.

Hmm, Im in the Sept11 log and I'm scrolling from the bottom to top.... I see 3.07" for the 17th, 1.04" for the 16th and I did not get rain those days..

Also seeing 7.64" on the 8th and I only got .58" that day..then it goes back to Sept 22nd after the 8th... Maybe thats the doubling issue ...

man Im more confused now..

Any thoughts or quick fix? The monthly total should be 5.51 right now.

Ok..so I deleted the duplicate/extra days in the Sept11Log file... I also did it in the dayfile. And put 0.00 in the days it shows rain when it didnt rain.

Now Im getting an error message on Line 49 in dayfile which would be todays date.

I also see the highmonthlyrainvalue it still says 17..

I wish there was a simple fix to go back to how it was. :-(

ok, ok.. getting back on track now.. I hope Steve likes these updates. I'm trying to save him the trouble from replying.

I do still have 2 questions..

How did this happen? (Was it from the restore point?)
Should I go into the "all time" and "year" files to fix the highest monthly rainfall?

It looks like your restore caused the problem. Your September log file had data up to the 22nd at 16:04 in it; presumably that's when you did the restore. It looks like you continued to use the same September log, but the timestamp in today.ini told Cumulus it needed to download data back to the 8th, so you then had duplicated data.

As for the error message about the Dayfile, it's telling you to look at line 49 of dayfile.txt and fix the problem. It's probably a blank line.
