Newbie's Web Site
I have a WS-2080 and using Cumulus of course and just able to get my site up and running at steveswx.99k.org using the Cumulus formatted templates. I am not up on html or coding but can figure out most things. I was wondering if the page can auto reload everytime new data is sent from Cumulus to my hosted server and also is it possible to have it update in real time as changes are sent from my WS-2080 to Cumulus....Any help or suggestions would be appreciated...Thanks..Steve

Re: Newbie's Web Site
I tried CumulusRealtime.html setup and followed the directions on the WIKI page and all I come up with is a grey screen and when I click on it it does show that silverlight is running. The url is steveswx.99k.org/CumulusRealtime.html
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it
Thanks
Steve

Re: Newbie's Web Site
I tried http://steveswx.99k.org/realtime.txt to see your text file, but it came out blank. Do you have it and is your CumulusRealtime.xml have a link to it like:STHirsch wrote:I tried CumulusRealtime.html setup and followed the directions on the WIKI page and all I come up with is a grey screen and when I click on it it does show that silverlight is running. Re: Newbie's Web Site
Have a read about realtime.txt http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Realtime.txt
Do you host your website on your own computer like me? (It seems you do?)
If you do, does your server use the Cumulus folder? If your server doesn't allow you to point it's directory at Cumulus' folder, and you have another, you will need to make the realtime.txt file go to where your server's folder is (more info available).
If you don't host your own website, you need to FTP the realtime.txt file. If you are FTPeeing (I'm busting
), then you need to check if your webhost accepts .txt files, as some don't.
EDIT- I see your realtime wind data in your gauges.htm page don't work. This is either you don't have the realtime.txt file or because your hosting your own website and it doesn't go through port 80 (default port). I had hosted mine through port 8888 with Yawcam, but even with the .txt file the gauges wouldn't work and CumulusRealtime.html wouldn't work.
Hope this is helping.

Re: Newbie's Web Site
The realtime.txt file is in the root directory of a hosted web site server. I tried steveswx.99k.org/realtime.txt and the string of numbers did come up. I have realtime enabled on Cumulus and the flash guages are working correctly. When u did check the page I did not have my station on line. The gauges update every 5 mins when the page is refreshed and the flash gauges refresh every 15 seconds as configured in Cumulus. The one thing I am thinking is maybe the web hosting server does not support Silverlight...thanks for the help so far and I am out to get this to work

Re: Newbie's Web Site
This is a possibility. You could try renaming the CumulusRealtime.xap file to CumulusRealtime.zip, and changing the html page which loads it, to match.STHirsch wrote:The one thing I am thinking is maybe the web hosting server does not support Silverlight

Re: Newbie's Web Site
Excellent! Well done. I like the fact we can change the units, makes it a lot easier to comprehend
Also, if adding your web address in your signature, try using the "URL" button at the top, then add the full URL address "http://steveswx.99k.org/CumulusRealtime.html" (or Index.htm), then we can just click on it.
Maybe go to your User Control Panel so it puts it in automatically.
