Are the symptoms that the rainfall goes wrong after downloading data from the logger? The files from the diags folder should show what's happening. Using the multiplier isn't going to help, it will just make all of your rainfall data wrong.

Is your station connected via a usb/serial adapter?

...using ws2315, wired format, serial (no usb). I am not sure what to check to see where the problem starts, but it seems most files get corrupted -- today, yesterday, monthly , alltime, and dayfile.

As a start, could you zip up all the files from your diags folder and send me them, please.

Thanks,

You rain total counter went silly at 23:50 on both the 20th and the 22nd (but not the 21st). This can't be a coincidence. Any idea what might have happened at that time on both nights?

Is your Radio transmissions overlapping into the reserved band of the weather station?

No -- It is probably harmonic or low-level spurious interference. I have not tried to measure it -- it cannot be strong, as there is no TVI or other RFI nearby. The rain guage is two meters away from a dipole antenna, the feedline entry point into the house is the same for both the wx wired data feed and the radio antenna, and the wx base receiver, the radio transmiter and the two computers which interface with both the wx receiver and the HF transmitter are all in the same cabinet. It is surprising that they all get along as well as they do. I think wrapping the wx receiver in tin foil may solve the problem. I wish there were a way to disable the wireless function on the ws-2315 when using wired input. lex
