N96FY (1081) - Clock and other settings.

Hi all,

Today I'm having to reset so many times that it's all getting really old, really fast. If I just set the pressure and leave all the other stuff it loses every time, will it matter as far as Cumulus is concerned? I'm thinking probably not. Anyone know for sure?

Where I got the panel situated I can't read it most of the time, so it's not like it matters what it thinks the time and date are anyway.

Not sure I shall bother with a replacement unit, as the whole experience has now become totally underwhelming. :x

Cumulus doesn't use the time from the console. I think the pressure setting is the only thing you need to worry about.

Thanks Steve, that's a relief, I shall just let it get on without the other settings then.

It'll save a lot of time and messing about, and since it's just going to lose the settings all over again, and again, then setting them is definitely wasting my time!

and if the pressure offset is the same each time you can put it into Cumulus rather than the station.

Thanks guys!

I am going to have a re-read on how one does that - it might be a way to get it to work! I don't think I had the majority of these errors until I started setting the station pressure to what it should be, it could be that as long as it's being daft with the numbers it's fine. I'll try and give it all a go for a further day or three. Who knows!? (wouldn't it be sickening if it turned out that was an issue?)

So, guess what I found out?

If I don't set anything it seems it does not lose contact at all! :?

As long as it's in lala land it's fine.

I have no idea what that tells us, but if anyone else has this issue, give it a try and let us know if it helps, and maybe we'll see if the numbers can tell us even more.

I'm somewhat dumbfounded by this outcome myself. :o

Maybe you can tell us why you were resetting multiple times in the first place? You mentioned something about lost contact? Or is the original problem in another thread somewhere?

Yes, every time I set the pressure (or anything else as far as I can know) it comes up with lost sensor contact within about an hour of the setting normally.

I had to do the resets because it was the only way I could find to regain contact. I was correcting settings on the panel, like time, date, pressure etc. Then it would loose sensor contact. I did not know about it also causing the problem at the time.
