Does anyone out there know of a program that I can leave running that will clean out the .temp folders, I seem to accumulate about 160 everyday, at the moment I clear them out using windows Disk Clean Up.I would prefer a freebie if possible.

Thanks in advance

Can you not just set up a batch job in the scheduler?

Just make sure you don't set something up which empties the temp folders continually, for obvious reasons.

You can schedule disk cleanup to run automatically: control panel -> scheduled tasks -> add scheduled task -> disk cleanup

A really simple Autoexec.bat file will do the job at every boot. First locate your Temp file location. Check in the My Computer Properties, Advanced tab, Environment Variables. See attached photo.

@echo off
c:
cd \
del c:\Temp\*.* /F/S/Q
del c:\Tmp\*.* /F/S/Q
del C:\Windows\Temp\*.* /F/S/Q

If you really need to completely an empty Temp folder, add

rmdir /S/Q C:\Tmp
mkdir C:\Tmp
