Changing weather stations and keeping data??

Post by bigharps »

I will soon be changing from a LaCrosse to a Davis VP Pro2+.
In fact I have the Davis unit up and running and am waiting on the data logger - tomorrow maybe?
I'd like to keep all my data in the same files etc if possible to preserve the site history, all time records etc.
If I stop Cumulus, hook up the Davis data logger, then restart Cumulus, will I be able to re-configure Cumulus and have it keep using the same Sept11log.txt file etc etc?
Or is it not so simple?
Thanks.
PS If this is discussed elsewhere, please go easy one me!

Yes, you can just switch stations and carry on. You might get an odd rainfall reading when you first switch, but that's easily fixed if it happens.
