Steve:
What values does Cumulus use to state its forecasts?
To-night, the Vantage Vue console was showing the umbrella and stating it was "raining cats and dogs". Which it was. (Our cat doe not like dogs, so she was under the bed.) Rain rate of 31mm/hr.
But Cumulus was stating its forecast as "Settled fine"
If I un-check the "Cumulus pressure trend names", where does Cumulus get its forecast text.
Are the forecast and pressure trend names related?
Carl

Re: Cumulus forecast messages
Remember, a forecast is a prediction of future weather. What the console was showing was 'current conditions', ie rain. Cumulus uses a forecast based on the Zambretti Forecaster and is a prediction of the weather in about 12 hours time. Its not a 'now cast'.

Re: Cumulus forecast messages
The 'raining cats and dogs' message on a Davis station is not related to the forecast, it is a separate message telling you what is happening now.
If you want Cumulus to use the Davis forecast instead of the Cumulus/Zambretti forecast, unset 'Cumulus Forecast' in the station settings.
The settings to use Cumulus/Station pressure trend names and Cumulus/Station forecasts are not related.

Are you referring to my Cumulus trends?
If so, I have no idea why Cumulus flat lined the trends for about two hours.
It has happened a few times and appears at random times.
In all cases, Cumulus displayed the correct values, but did not update the trend graphs.

Yep, I was looking at the graphs to see if there was anything not adding up - but that was not the 'problem'. I forgot about the Davis 'now-cast'

Re: Cumulus forecast messages
If this happens without you doing anything, and everything else timer-related is working OK (e.g. log entries) then I think the most likely cause would be a bug in the chart component. The QCC wrote:If so, I have no idea why Cumulus flat lined the trends for about two hours.

Do the graphs continue to be plotted (presumably with the same value repeatedly) while they're flat, or do they stop altogether and then suddenly catch up? And the values in the log at the times of those flat lines are correct?
