Hi,
I have recently purchased a WS2083 station and have been downloading data for about 1 month. I have Cumulus 1.9.0 build 958 software installed. I have it set to download readings every half hour. It was working fine until yesterday when I downloaded I noticed that it has started missing some of the half hour downloads - seemingly at random. The batteries were brand new when I set the station up about a month ago. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?
Thanks for your help. Kevan

Re: Missed data readings on WS2083
I don't know what you mean when you say you have set Cumulus to download readings every half hour, and that it misses some. Cumulus is constantly reading data from the station when it's running (every 10 seconds). Do you mean that you have set the station logger to half an hour? Presumably you don't run Cumulus 24 hours a day?
If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, and list the dates and times of some of the readings that you say are missing, I'll investigate.

Re: Missed data readings on WS2083
Hi, yes the station logger is set to half hour intervals in the set up for my station. I download the data once a week - Cumulus isnt running all the time. Some example dates & times are;
27-8-2011: it only downloaded readings ffrom 11:11 to 16:41 instead of the full 24 hrs and within this 14:41 and 15:41 readings were missing when downloaded. There were also similar problems on 28-8-2011 and 29-8-2011.
I have been downloading data since mid July when I purchased the station and it had been fine up till then.
Regards,
Kevan

Re: Missed data readings on WS2083
Cumulus is discarding some of your logger entries because most of the data in them is invalid - and the 'sensor contact lost' flag is set. So it looks like you have a communication problem between the transmitter and the console.

Re: Missed data readings on WS2083
Thanks, could that be to do with the batteries or perhaps where station and console are located?

Re: Missed data readings on WS2083
Yes, could be either of those - it's a common problem. If you look through the forum you'll see some suggestions, e.g. changing the orientation of the transmitter.
