Is there a way to find out if data has been sent to the WOW website. My data was appearing on my site in WOW, but has now stopped. Need help troubleshooting. Thanks

What is your WOW site ID, and what browser are you using? WOW is a bit funny about the browser you use; in some browsers it can appear that your data has stopped uploading. For example, for my site at the moment, in FF6 I get up-to-date graphs but the data values shown in the 'latest observations' section are from June. In IE9, my latest observation is up-to-date, but I get no graphs.

Hi Steve, Let me explain, I have davis pro2 plus at home which has been uploading ok to WOW. I have just installed the same equipment at the school where a work and turned off the WOW on my home system and turned it on on the school system, I didn't foresee any problem with this. I am using 1.92 (1000) at home and 1.92 (1007) at school. Site ID is 185772
School weather website can be found at:-

Thanks
Gary

PS Just created new WOW site (11103628). Still no joy as yet. PC at school goes via Proxy for http. could this be a problem?

Quite likely. If you turn on the debug log, it may show some errors when it attempts the WOW update (it may just be timing out due to the proxy).

Hi Steve, Debug log attached seems to indicate a 404 error from WOW server, or is this message generated by cumulus? I notice the data sent to WOW that is recorded in the debug log masks the password, is this correct?
Hope you can help.
Best regards
Gary

It's not generated by Cumulus, it's the response to the http request. But it's impossible to say where it's coming from, probably not from WOW. You can confirm that the URL is valid by copying it your browser and putting your password in before sending it.

Cumulus masks the password in the debug log.

Hi Steve, pasting the code into the browser after manually entering the password works fine. Any clues how to fix this?

There's no fix that I know of, if the problem is the proxy (which your browser is presumably configured to use) as Cumulus doesn't use proxies.

OK Thanks, I'll have to persuade the IT Dept at my Local Authority to allow this PC to connect directly to the internet.

I'm wondering why you're having problems with WOW in particular - or is that the only site you're attempting to upload to?

The school website is uploaded using FTP and FTP traffic doesn't go through the proxy. I did try using a windows tool proxycfg.exe. This tool configures all outward bound http traffic to go via the proxy so obviating the need for an application to have its own configuration, but it didn't work.

Hi

Just registered with WOW and want to upload my data, is there a "how to" somewhere I can't find one.

Cheers

Bob

Fill in the WOW section of the internet settings. There's help available via the help button.

Don't see it, I take it I need version 1.9.2 (I have 1.9.1)?
