Testers please

Post by pacificblue03 »

Hello everyone i just wanted to as a favour can any of you visit my website in a few browsers and test my TOP navigation bar to see if it works correctly. I created it using action scrip 3.0 and just the home button works at this time for in same pages

the others are just random links for now just to see if this works

the website is http://www.westmeadnswweather.com/

Please test and report back if it is all looking good

also please confirm with me that upon click the page opens in the same TAB not a new one

Thanks

Antonio.

Don't know if you are currently working on it, but when I first tried a few minutes ago, only the Home button worked in Firefox, Chrome and IE9, although IE9 showed a "download this clip" tag!!!
Now all those buttons seem to work in all the above browsers..(Going to Home yahoo, Google and the Met bureau)

Hi Antonio,

I've checked your new top menu, and...
we have to wait some second for the first visit... until white box is becoming a menu.

Internet Explorer 9 : OK
Firefox 4 : OK
Opera 11.10 : We see the menu, but the "underbar" doesn't slide and we have to click twice
(First time "underbar" slide to the right item, but have to click an other time to have the page ie : Main Pag... Yahoo... Google.. weather!)
iPad still hate Flash, then...

You know, similiar effect could be done in javascript :

http://www.scriptiny.com/2008/05/slidin ... light-1kb/

Or in css too... http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/cssli ... ntal_tabs/

... your site has a very clean design... Bravo!

This is not what you wanted people to check, and I'm sure you would have tidied it up once you sort the important stuff, but here it goes:
See the corrections you may want to implement.
(W)welcome to Westmead NSW Weather, we are located in (Westmead) Wsetmead NSW Australia and all of the data generated on this page is by the weather station(add space) Davis Vantage Vue. (D)data is updated every 1(space)minutes Approx and is doing so from 8AM to 10+PM. The website is currently under maintenance so there will be some times where things should not look like as they do. Comming soon will be a photo gallery
In your 24hr dropdown box, add an e in "temperature".
Other than that, it's brilliant. I like the way you have a bar for the wind, and how it changes colour as the wind goes stronger, mine just shows girls getting effected by the change in wind he he he. ;)

All fine here using IE8. One missing graphic under weather description on Home page. Properties show it as http://www.westmeadnswweather.com/images/-1.png

Other than that fine.

Lines starting at 145...

Code: Select all

 <script type="text/javascript">
var imagen = "-1";
document.write('<img src="images/'+imagen+'.png"/>');
</script>  </td>
the variable imagen is being set to -1 somewhere as the page is being built. I guess for exceptional weather it should be 1

How are you setting this variable?

You need to consider that forecastnumber could return -1 for Exceptional weather, so you will need a -1 image too, probably just a copy of 1.png

I seemed to recall reading a similar question from you before on the forum, so I did a quick search... https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... 766#p30766
