Can anyone help, please? I've set up the weather station, everything is reporting back to the console, but there's no driver on the CD, and my computer sees the console as an unknown device! :bash:

Can anyone upload a driver for me? please? :D

Odd, it doesn't usually need a driver. Have you installed the EasyWeather s/w just in case?

Yes, I've now installed/uninstalled then reinstalled. When I unplug the console, I get the typical 2 note descending audio notification. When I plug the console in, I get a fast three notes of the same pitch, again indicating the device isn't recognised. I am out of ideas now. :?:

Thanks for the quick reply, BTW.

The station is just a HID device, so Windows should recognise it as such, and not need any other driver.

If you go into Device Manager, can you find the device in the Human Interface Devices section? If you display the hardware IDs of each device, the station is the one with vendor ID 1941, product ID 8021:

Sorry about the delay replying, just had to serve dinner to the guests. The problem seems to be that the device is showing as an unknown USB device, instead of a HID device.

Thanks for the assistance. I'll see if I can find out how to change that. If anybody knows, though, please feel free to tell me. :D

My guess would that as this is standard USB device your computer has somehow lost the standard chipset defintions for your motherboard.
You do not say what type of computer this is, home built or from a vendor like Dell etc. If its from a vendor then look up the machine type in their support area and look for software downloads, you should see a chipset definfition for your CPU (i.e Intel or AMD), download this and install it.
If it was a home built computer the motherboard should have come with a CD that had a chipset install on it.

Thanks. It was bought from a company called Cyberpower. It's a Gigabyte mobo, with an AMD processor.\i'll check the CD,and I'll get onto their website as well.

Again, thanks for the help, guys, much appreciated. :D

Something else to try would be a different USB cable and a different USB port. But I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a faulty station.

Thanks, Steve. I've tried that. I'm investigating the chipset scenario, and I'll report back.

Well, I've installed the latest chipset drivers, no difference. I was looking on Google last night, and apparently there can be problems with some HIDs and Windows 7 64 bit, so I'll do some more research when I get time.

Sorted!

I've started a new thread at : - https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5742 with the solution to my problem. I did this to give a more meaningful title to the problem. |Hope that's OK?

Thanks again, guys for all your help/advice. :D
