You probably also need to edit dayfile.txt.

And one more question:

What is the difference between "Heatindex", "Humanindex" and "Apparent Temperatur" ?

Thanks for information.

Accordingly, "Humenindex" and "Heatindex" are nearly the same, only "Humenindex" is used in Canada and "Heatindex" in the rest of the world.
"Humenindex" ist higher than "Heatindex", people in Canada take heat was so different than the rest of the population on the earth ?

And the Apparent temperature is a combination of heat index and wind chill, is this correct?

Currently shows on my station following values:

real Temperatur: 33,7°C
rel. humidity: 30%
Wind: F1 light air (averrage 2,5Km/h)

Windchill: 33,7°C
Heatindex: 32,9°C
Humenindex: 36,8°C
Apparent Temperatur: 34,2°C

Question:

What temperature do I feel now ?

Windchill Temperatur ?
Heatindex Temperatur ?
Humenindex Temperatur ?
Apparent Temperatur ?

Thank you for help.

They're all just different ways of trying to get an indication of how it 'feels' to a human taking into account more than just temperature. That's all I can say, I'm not a meteorologist, I just write software. If you want to choose just one, use whichever one you feel happy with.

If you want to discuss meteorology with other forum users (many of whom know far more about it than I do), it would probably be better to start a new thread in the 'Weather' section of the forum, rather than tacking your questions on to the end of an unrelated support thread.

Is there a way to get highest humidex TAG to show as highest humidex in the records department ? because it shows only as highest heat index only.

thanks tony.

No, Cumulus doesn't currently maintain any extreme humidex values. It has been asked for, and at some point I may get around to it, but I have to prioritise it along with everything else.

But it did occur to me recently that a relatively easy 'hack' would be an option to use humidex instead of heat index everywhere. This would mean that everywhere that heat index is currently shown - and logged - including all-time records, web tags etc, the values would actually be humidex. I wouldn't change the labels within Cumulus (other than the existing one on the main screen), the user would just have to accept that where it said High Heat Index etc, the value was actually calculated using the Humidex formula. Web sites could be edited by the user to say 'humidex'.
