RealTime Gauges Simplified

Hi Steve,
I am developing a new web site for our sailing club and intend to include a weather page so members can see what conditions are like on the beach here before they travel down.

I know I can use your Cumulus software (and silverlight Realtime component) 'off the shelf' but would like to understand the code behind and develop a simpler silverlight component (just wind speed and direction, barometer and trends) for my site.

I have Telerik's web UI controls. Is there any chance of looking at your source? I have no intention of going commercial with this and would be happy to let you see anything I develop.

Hi Ian, and welcome to the forum.

Just a thought, but if you develop something in Silverlight (or Flash) you could be limiting your audience a little. Your project sounds like something someone might wish to check on a mobile and not all mobiles support these technologies

Something a little simpler might be in order, but equally good looking

I can't let you have my source code, sorry. But having seen what can be done in JavaScript (e.g. the stuff that Mark Crossley has done) I agree entirely with David.

Thanks for your speedy responses.

I take your point David - I thought of having a separate page specifically designed for mobiles.
