Hello, I just got my weatherwise model ws-1080 and I cant get it to show my weather data on my web site. When you click on it its just showing its downloading data but never does. Go to my site www.k9ras.com and click on local weather to see what is happening. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott

You don't seem to have a realtime.txt file; http://www.k9ras.com/realtime.txt gives a 404. Have you configured Cumulus to upload it?

Hello scottran

I had precisely the same problem. My solution was to the erase all the files on the web site in the weather folder.
Recheck my Cumulus settings.
Auto update - Yes. Delete before upload - Yes.
Enable Realtime - Yes. Enable Realtime ftp - Yes. Realtime. txt ftp - Yes.

Copied the files in the F:\Cumulus\webfiles folder to my local website folder
Copied the files in the F:\Cumulus\web to my local website folder
e.g. D:\WebSites\Hennig\QCC_weather
Unzipped the CumulusRealtime.Zip file and copied the files
CumulusRealtime.html
CumulusRealtime.xap
CumulusRealtime.xml
To my local web site folder e.g. D:\WebSites\Hennig\QCC_weather

My local website folder looks like this:
_notes
dbimages
images
originals

changes.txt
CumulusRealtime.html
CumulusRealtime.xap
CumulusRealtime.xml
gauges.htm
index.htm
realtime.txt
record.htm
thismonth.htm
thisyear.htm
today.htm
trends.htm
weatherstyle.css
wz_jsgraphics.js
yesterday.htm

I use Dreamweaver, but your ftp will work.
ftp the complete folder and all its contents and sub-folders to your website folder.

I do not know what step I missed the first time around, but the above now works for me.

Carl

Scott..I just looked at your website and I really like the layout for the console. Can you tell me where you got it? It's very uncluttered and easy to read.

I too, am a newbie with a ws-1080.

Thanks..

Jim

Would that be the Weather Underground display you are refering too? If it is, just upload your data to weather underground and you can then copy the code to place on your website. I have the smaller version on my website.

If you clicked on the weather link, that is the CumulusRealtime.html page, and you can download and install this from the Wiki at http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/CumulusRealtime .

OK..Please forgive me, but I am a little dense on this stuff. Are you saying that I have to have a personal website to use this?

If by "this" do you mean Cumulus, then no. Cumulus will run with just your weather console quite happily. If by "this" you mean Weather Underground, again the answer is no. When I was considering buying my weather station, I pictured myself hanging it on the wall like a picture frame, but then I found Cumulus. I now no longer look at my console and just use Cumulus. It's that good. But then I found that you could send your data to different websites (like Weather Underground, CWOP?, Weather Bug, PWS Weather, WOW, Twitter and your own website. OH, and with Toolbox, send updates to Facebook :D ), so that if your out and about, you can still read your own weather. You don't have to choose any, or choose all if you like! I chose WU first. Sign up, get Cumulus to send them your info then you have a website run by someone else. Easy! Then I took up the challange of not only having MY OWN website (with Cumulus' pre-made webpage templates to make it super easy), but then to edit the pages myself for a personal touch.
How far do you want to go? Take your time and enjoy your passion.

Your server host may not support/read the .xap file. Steve got onto a trick sent in by someone (Daj?) that you change CumulusRealtime.xap to CumulusRealtime.zip and then change the CumulusRealtime.html page to point to the new file

Code: Select all

<param name="source" value="CumulusRealtime.xap?v=1.0.0.3"/>
to read

Code: Select all

<param name="source" value="CumulusRealtime.zip?v=1.0.0.3"/>

In your xml config file, you have the realtime.txt URL as http://www.miltb120.x10.mx/public_html/ ... altime.txt but it's actually http://www.miltb120.x10.mx/milton/weath ... altime.txt

By the way, having spaces in a URL is generally a bad idea (see how they've been encoded to %20 above?).

Steve,
I removed the gap as suggested and tried renaming the XAD file as mentioned in an earlier post but still get the error re loading data
see
http://www.miltb120.x10.mx/milton/weath ... ltime.html
What am I missing please!
Brilliant product by the way, I now never look at the basestation

Your realtime.txt file is now at http://www.miltb120.x10.mx/milton/weath ... altime.txt but the URL in your XML config file has a space in it: http://www.miltb120.x10.mx/milton/weath ... altime.txt

You didn't actually need to rename the .xap file, by the way. The fact that the application was appearing in the browser meant that your server does support Silverlight.
