Ok.........I'm computer illiterate! lol Hopefully this thread helps others that have similar issues.

Hours and still no luck. My low temp is stil reading 20 degrees for August. Just installed the software August 3rd. I changed the data in the files and its still not reading on this months record and this years record. I know its something I'm not seeing.

it is picking it up on all time records.

I've put in 63.5 temp for al the low temp lines and apparent temp lines and windchill low temp lines. Even changed the time to the AM hour not PM.

Here's a screen shot.. Notice the month and year files DO NOT SAVE.. They automatically go back to 20 degrees.

Secondly "this months" highest monthly rainfall is not showing.

You say you changed the data in the files - which files? Can you describe exactly what you've done, it's not clear to me.

The month and year editors work in exactly the same way as the all-time editors; I don't understand why one would work for you and not the others. What version of Cumulus are you using?

You can't have a highest monthly rainfall for a period of one single month. Well, I suppose you could, but it would always be the month you were looking at, it couldn't be a different month.

In the "alltime" and "alltime log" file I changed the low temp value, low chill value, highmintempvalue, & lowapptempvalue and all the dates. That seems to have worked fine as the alltime records are reflecting the 63 degrees mark. The other records (month and year) are not showing the 63.

1.9.1
I figured it out... I had to close the Cumulus first then change and save. it will not save with software open. Still showing 20 degrees in other areas though..

EDIT:: I'm uploading a video so you can see what is going on... Still uploading...will post in a little bit or tonight..hope it helps.

The two files are month.ini and year.ini; you could upload them and I could see if there was some sort of problem preventing the updates beiong saved, but I can't think what sort of problem that might be. I know that there have been a couple of bugs with the editors not saving certain items, but I don't think those bugs affect what you're trying to do.

A work-around would be to stop Cumulus and edit the month.ini and year.ini files in a text editor.

Thanks, that clears it all up (even though I couldn't see all of the displays in the video). The 'This Month/Year' displays are summaries of a particular chosen month/year. They are not related in any way to the figures that you are editing with the 'This Month's records' and 'This Year's records' editors. Those figures are just for the current month or year, and are the ones you see in the View -> Highs and Lows -> This Month/Year.

The figures in the This Month/Year displays are taken from the daily summaries in dayfile.txt. You need to stop Cumulus and edit dayfile.txt to remove the spurious readings from the entry for the 3rd August.
