So I know if I have to report it when it happens again.

Yes. But I'm not sure if what I've done for the 'download stopped' case will have any effect because we don't know exactly why it happens.

A started Cumulus about an hour ago and it happened again (b1003)
Then I saw there was a new build, so I downloaded b1004, closed Cumulus, installed the new build and Cumulus downloaded the rest of the data.
I let know how it goes with b1004.

If it happens with build 1004, it would be good to see the data arriving from the station, and for that I'll need the debug log. To turn the debug log on at start up, you need to edit cumulus.ini, and add a line to the [Station] section:

Logging=1

But it's not a good idea to leave the debug log turned on all the time, so it's probably best to leave this until you hit the problem the first time.

If it happens, will it not be too late to start the log?
Or will it be enough to add the line and restart Cumulus?

I thought that perhaps it wasn't worth doing it until you knew that it still happens with build 1004.

You can turn on the logging now, if you want. But you would probably want to turn it off each time after it's finished the download - and delete the debug.log file.

How often do you start Cumulus where it needs to download data from the logger? I've done it dozens of times and never yet had the download fail.

I like to think that it is OK, so I leave it off for now.
If it happens again I will turn it on.

Normally I turn on my pc 2-3 times a day and the same for Cumulus.
I don’t have a site and my pc isn’t on for 24/7
