Steve,
First, Thank you so much for your program and support! :clap:
Second, I am having a problem with my setup that I cannot resolve on my own. I have a AW WS-1090 and it has been going well up until last week. Cumulus connects to download the data but never finishes. Based on previous post, I opened the Diags folder and looked at the last file in Notepad++. I found the error and did a search on the forum but did not find a post dealing with this error statement. I am inserting the snip of statements and uploading the zipped files for your review.

You have some kind of USB problem. As well as the above error (which simply means that Cumulus was unable to send the command to the station to read the data) you have other USB error messages, e.g:

9/13/2011 22:31:41.919 : 10:31:41 PM EWUSB: HidControl Device Unplug
9/13/2011 22:31:41.919 : VID = 1941 PID = 8021
9/13/2011 22:31:41.923 : EWUSB: HidControl Device Removal
9/13/2011 22:31:41.923 : VID = 1941 PID = 8021

The above message refers to your weather station being disconnected. It's not just your weather station which is affected:

9/13/2011 22:31:41.923 : 10:31:41 PM EWUSB: HidControl Device Unplug
9/13/2011 22:31:41.923 : VID = 045E PID = 071D
9/13/2011 22:31:41.923 : EWUSB: HidControl Device Removal
9/13/2011 22:31:41.923 : VID = 045E PID = 071D

I'm not sure exactly what device that is, but 045E is Microsoft's ID.

I was able to figure it out as I was waiting on your reply. I searched on "Failed USB" and found a few post that you solved that led me to think I should move the USB connector. I moved it from my Belkin powered hub to the USB connector on the front of my PC and it updated. Not sure why it worked on the Belkin for 6 weeks then stopped. I use that hub for my iPhone/iPad charger, wireless keyboard/mouse dongle and webcam which I rarely use anymore. Oh well. It's working now so yea!
Again, thanks for your help!

Similar problem. Was using Cumulus for about two weeks with my WS-1090 weather station and suddenly it stopped downloading data. It would simply hang on the "downloading data" screen. Sounds like others with this problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing changed. Any thoughts on what I can do to fix?

The diags folder is in the folder where you installed Cumulus.

Yes, you have a similar issue to Frank, with the first bytes of your station's memory containing unexpected values (indicating that it hasn't initialised properly). You can bypass this in the same way that Frank has done; use the latest version of 1.9.2 and add a line

EWdisablecheckinit=1

in the [Station] section of cumulus.ini.

For future reference, it's a real pain dealing with lots of separate uploaded files like this. If you need to do this again, please zip up the folder as requested. (Right-click on it and select 'send to -> compressed (zipped) folder' and then upload the resulting diags.zip file). Thanks.

Steve:

Sorry about that. I'm not quite the software jock I am striving to be. Therefore, will you school me on how to insert that line of code in the 1.9.2 lastest version?

In the Cumulus folder is a file called cumulus.ini. Open it in notepad or another text editor. Immediately after the line

[Station]

add a line

EWdisablecheckinit=1

Save the file and start Cumulus.
