Wind chill graphs (b 1003)

Hi Steve,

A question about the ‘Wind chill’ graphs.
Why do I have all the lines that go down to zero? (0)
Is that correct?

Edit:
It looks like it happens when I close Cumulus.

I think it's because of the way that the WMR200 sends wind and temperature in separate packets rather than it all being available at the same time, so when Cumulus first calculates wind chill it doesn't have both items available. Or it might be because it hasn't yet worked out a wind chill value when the first graph point is plotted. I'll see if I can check for both situations, if I'm not already.

I do already check for both wind and temp being available before calculating wind chill, so it's not that. But the station calculates wind chill itself anyway, have you told Cumulus to calculate it instead?

Yes it was checked, I unchecked it now.
I let you know how it works out.

Thanks - I suspect the problem occurs when it's had a temperature reading but not a wind reading (so it hasn't yet been able to calculate the wind chill) when it's time to plot the temperature chart. It checks that it's had a temperature reading (because it's the temperature chart!) but not that it's had a wind reading. I think I'll have to put in a separate check that it's got a wind chill value, and not plot that variable if it hasn't. I think the chart should work OK without all of the variables plotted.

It happened only if I closed Cumulus.

I closed/restarted Cumulus a few times and:
If it is unchecked in Cumulus it stays on zero.
I believe the WMR200 only calculates wind chill if the temperature is below 4 degrees (C)

So:
Is there a way to ignore the WMR200 wind chill calculation and use the Cumulus option??

Yes, but I'll have to put a check in to make sure it doesn't plot the wind chill value until it's calculated it the first time.

Ok, that would be nice.

Hi Steve,

Not a big problem (for me), but I still want to mansion it.

After I told Cumulus to ‘Calculate wind chill’ again, the temp graph did not update anymore.
After I restarted Cumulus everything was fine again.

Some sort of problem with the graphs package. Cumulus was adding new points and deleting old ones (hence the gap at the left hand side), but for some reason the graph time scale wasn't being adjusted to show the latest points (the graphs package handles all of the scaling of the graphs).
