Ah! No it won't. I had already spotted the problem and I updated my copy of the file after the 1.3.3 release ready for the next release :roll:

I'll push out version 1.3.4 with the fix incorporated...

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the updates. I have just updated mine and it is still showing Version 1.3.3 and not version 1.3.4.
I am sure that I have copied all the updates fine.

Here is my webpage http://branksomeweather.co.uk/gauges-ss.htm

Many thanks
Mike

Ah, yes, I didn't make any changes in gauges.js (where it gets the version string from), and so forgot to update that string. So it will still display as v1.3.3 - sorry

Hi Guys,

Very much a novice here, but willing to learn.
I have updated my Weather Blues Template yesterday with the impressive Steel Gauges.

I thought that I had followed all instructions, but the gauges are not moving / updating.

The realtime.txt file is appearing in my internet folder.

I have spent time on the forums this morning, but couldn't find anything similar to assist.

Your help would be appreciated.

Regards

John

John, the gauges do not use the standard realtime.txt, there is a version specific to the gauges, either you are not uploading this, or it is going to place where the scripts cannot find it.

Volunteers please. I'd like the following strings translated into French, German, and Dutch for the templates. Please email the results rather than clogging up this thread. > public at wilmslowastro com <

The English has been lifted from wikipedia...

"UV Index";
["No danger",
"Little risk",
"High risk",
"Very high risk",
"Extreme risk"];
["No danger to the average person",
"Little risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure",
"High risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure",
"Very high risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure",
"Extreme risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure"];
["Wear sunglasses on bright days; use sunscreen if there is snow on the ground,<br/>" +
"which reflects UV radiation, or if you have particularly fair skin.",
"Wear sunglasses and use SPF 30+ sunscreen, cover the body with clothing and<br/>" +
"a hat, and seek shade around midday when the sun is most intense.",
"Wear sunglasses and use SPF 30+ sunscreen, cover the body with sun protective<br/>" +
"clothing and a wide-brim hat, and reduce time in the sun from two hours before<br/>" +
"to three hours after solar noon (roughly 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM during summer in<br/>" +
"zones that observe daylight saving time).",
"Wear SPF 30+ sunscreen, a shirt, sunglasses, and a hat.<br/>" +
"Do not stay out in the sun for too long.",
"Take all precautions, including: wear sunglasses and use SPF 30+ sunscreen,<br/>" +
"cover the body with a long-sleeve shirt and trousers, wear a very broad hat, and<br/>" +
"avoid the sun from two hours before to three hours after solar noon (roughly 11:00 AM<br/>" +
"to 4:00 PM during summer in zones that observe daylight saving time)."];

Thanks Mark, You make reference to copy "realtimegaugesT.json" in your notes. However, there is no .json file within the zip folder.

I have copied "realtimegaugesT.txt" together with "gauges-ssT.htm" into my local Cumulus\web folder & have configured "realtimegaugesT.txt" to be sent to remote folder /www.website root path/web/realtimegauges.txt

If this is incorrect, can you please advise?

John

The notes are wrong, I'll correct them.

You have everything set up right as far as I can see, except the gauges.js is a really old version "1.2.2", replace it with the latest version and everything should be OK.

Thank you for your prompt advice Mark.

It all appears to be in good working order now.

Many thanks

I've had a read through but can't see how to resize the gauges to fit on my page that has a side column and therefore need to be narrower. Can someone advise me please?

Look around line 17 of gauges.js...

var g_size = 251; //size of gauges (default 251 pixels) - Odd numbers render better than even

aussiewmr wrote:What I am seeing on my site and other user sites from this thread when I visit them is when the gauge page first loads and you mouse over the Temperature Gauge to get the graph popup, the graph displayed is the long term one (usually 31 days or tempm.png) graph despite the "g_tipImgs" array in gauges.js being set to temp.png which should be the user set short term graph (in my case 4 days, others use 24 hrs etc).

When I change the gauge from outdoor to indoor the correct graph is displayed (temp.png). When I change back to outdoor the correct graph is also displayed. However when I reload the page, the gauge defaults to outdoor with the long term graph (tempm.png) displayed again.

I can't for the life of me workout why this is happening.
Yes I'd spotted that too, it was a mistake on my part. I suspect that if you update the ddimgtooltip.min.js script from v1.3.3 the problem is resolved and you only get the recent temperature graph?

Thanks Mark,
This works perfectly.
All I need to do now is make a wind rose - that will be a good project for a wet day :)
