Congratulation! Good job!

As for the 'Weather Blues' templates - I started converting them to PHP earlier this morning (PST) and immediately noticed some problems with both the coding of the templates and the way some of the scripts are used. For example, the jQuery Nivo Slider script used for the header slide show is old (v2.3 - v2.7.1, with some bug corrections is available for the author's web site) - it was designed to run under the jQuery JavaScript Library v1.4.3 - the latest release of the jQuery JavaScript Library being v1.7.1.

OK, looking at the source code of your page... Ouch! What have you done! Really, it is a nice try but you have to remember there is a procedure to include (or replace) code within a page... Have you noticed a large number of <div> tags - they are there for a purpose - they keep things together within sections of the page - and even those sections of the page are kept together with other <div> tags.

OK, to get you going, I have worked out a template for the SteelSeries gauge - the template is also using the most recent version of the jQuery Nivo Slider scrips (both the JavaScript and the CSS script) as well as the most recent version of the jQuery JavaScript Library - files included in the ZIP. Please let me know if the template works on your server/site.

Updated 11-Jan-2012: The link to the file 'Weather Blues SteelSerie Gauges Template.zip' has been removed as it was only meant to assist one user in setting up the SteelSeries gauges ... and certainly NOT meant as an official release of the SteelSeries gauges for the 'Weather Blues' templates. Should you need assistance setting up the SteelSerie gauges on your 'Weather Blues' HTM and even PHP templates, please contact me directly (eMail address in my signature). Thanks.

Very nice, thank you so much, it works great. I realised mine was a bit of a hack, but I was pleased it worked at all

I'll sit down when I get a chance and compare the 2 template files so I learn a bit more about how it works.

The link to the test page is still the same http://41south.net.nz/weather/sstest.htm

I'm happy to help test the php versions too :D

Thanks again!

Well, I am happy the template works on your host server/site - the template was tested on my internal home/office host server which is usually more up-to-date (as far as the Apache, the PHP, the MySQL software go) than most free and pay-for online host servers...

As for the (my) PHP version of the 'Weather Blues' templates ... it will be a while before I have anything ready - after working with the main page (the index template), as I stated in a previous message, I realised that scripts and templates were all over the place with duplications of libraries and scripts that need updating - that is not the way I like to have my templates/scripts - I like to have everything well organised according to their file type and usage. So, it will be an almost complete rewrite of the 'Weather Blues' templates for PHP... :|

Mark, can the colour of the trend arrows/steady indicator (displayed inside both the temperature and pressure gauges) be changed - I could not find any variables to that effect?

It appears at this time that the colours are fixed within the 'steelseries.js' script, the up arrow colour being one of the shades of 'RED_LED', the down arrow being one of the shades of 'CYAN_LED' and the steady indicator being one of the shades of 'GREEN_LED'...

Correct, they are fixed colours. The latest version of the library in github changes the indicator a little, I have tweaked the 'up' indicator since then to make it 'redder' but not committed it yet. I hadn't planned on making the colours configurable, that way heads to parameter overload I think, but the beauty of JavaScript libraries is you can tweak your own personal implementation ;)

BTW - looking at one of the many users pages I noticed that the trend indicator (eg. barometer) may be within a coloured background 'range'. Would it be better to position it between the 'pins' on the radial dials ?

Before looking for a fix; is that a problem? The trend indicator occupies the same position as the 'user' LED on the main gauges - the user LED hasn't been implemented in the canvas version, that and the threshold LED are both in locations that can mean they are embedded in shaded areas. Putting it in the 'gap' is possible and I did think about it, but it's more work for me as the gap 'moves around' depending on the gaugeType (this Cumulus page just uses gaugeType TYPE4, but there are types 1-3 as well).

Good idea, how about starting another thread though?

If anyone wants the latest incarnation of the trend indicator I have attached the latest Cumulus specific build of the steelseries library. This should be just a slot-in replacement for 1.3.3 version of the gauges.

Thank you for your hard work!

I've got mine up and running, not sure how it looks on other people's monitors.

I have adapted the SteelSeris gauges to Jacques 'Weather Blues' template... I do not have a guide as the page had to be re-arranged (and somewhat cleaned up) before the gauges could be inserted. Here is a link to my (still-under development and not updated) SteelSeries Weather Gauges page. Is that the type of page you were expecting (display wise)?

I am also adapting the 'Weather Blues' template to PHP - all pages are done except the 'standard' Cumulus gauges page, the Tzouhalem-Maple Bay Weather Blues.

Yes that looks great! BTW, I can probably figure out how to get this working, though a guide would be handy.
