To have separate gauges for showing the inside and outside temperatures you would have to make changes to the 'gauges.js' script by modifying the present temperature gauge (to remove the inside data) and by creating a new temperature gauge (this one using the inside data).

For good or bad, I have released version 0.8.6 of steelseries canvas which adds gradient colours to the Radial/LinearBargraphs.

Now the fun begins. It is like having a new sandbox - first thing is messing it up.
It was a messy sandbox - not because of Marks excellent code - just my different method of language change, style, and radar gauge - plus being an innocent code beginner.

In any case - the sandbox cleaned up just enough to allow things to work. I will spend some time to clean it up so I have a clean play area before I mess it up again.

Love the new gauges, Mark! Looking forward to all the forthcoming enhancements.

Keep going George :lol:

I have just released version 0.8.8 of the library, this implements a Glossy Metal frame, and tickLabelOrientation.

Hiya,

Anyway I can remove the big red section on the left side of the Baro dial and the small section at the end of the range?

You need to edit gauges.js

In the function "doBaro()", comment out the line "gauge_baro.setArea(g_baro.areas);" - around line 1090-ish

Fixed, thanks! I also noticed that sone of the LCD fonts don't change to Digital Font until after the first update?

That happens if the script renders the gauges before the font download has completed. I put a bit of hidden text at the bottom of the page that is formatted to use the LCD font. This normally forces the font download to complete before the script executes, but it is a bit of a kludge to be honest.

Woops, left that out when I pasted your code into the new template :oops:

For those going it alone, the SteelSeries canvas library is now up to v0.9.1
Gerrit has added TrafficLight and LightBulb components, and added section colour handling to DisplaySingle LCD panels
There is also a new pointer TYPE14.

https://plus.google.com/u/0/105784522827877256999

The library is starting to get rather large (210KB minified), so I recommend that you strip out the components that you are not going to use from the source and re-minify. Gerrit and I are bouncing ideas around about how to handle the size issue. If your server supports it then compressing the library would be a good option.

The beteljuice started playing with compression, but quickly discovered that his space provider had disabled ALL possible 'flags' in both PHP and htaccess :?

However - if your server is PHP enabled here is an inelegant work-around.
Rename (and refer to) mycode.js as mycode.js.php, then add the following two (php) lines at the top - simples

Code: Select all

<?php if (substr_count($_SERVER['HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING'], 'gzip')) ob_start("ob_gzhandler"); else ob_start(); ?>
<?php header("Content-type: text/js"); ?>

.... put js here ..........
