Your copy of steelseries.min.js has been truncated somehow. Upload a fresh copy from the zip to your website and see if that fixes it.

EDIT: as has your copy of tween.min.js

Mark,

Upon further inspection I noted that nearly all of the js files had some differences between the original and downloaded file sizes.
I deleted the lot off the server and uploaded them again and now have gauges.

THANKS for your help, it was very much appreciated.

Daryl

Why is Google Chrome so bad at rendering rotated fonts? Chrome on the left, IE9 on the right

Indeed, this is not the first time I noticed some 'weaknesses' in Google Chrome - although Chrome is 'supposed' to be fully CSS3 and HTML5 compatible, there have been quite a few times it did not 'respect' some of the CSS codes - I also checked the same code with Firefox (my main browser), Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer and was surprised to notice that only Safari (other than Chorme) would not properly display the (same) CSS codes - might it be that both browser are powered by the WebKit layout engine...

I have added a (hopefully subtle) shadow effect to all the LCD components for a bit more of a 3D feel

Hi Guys,

I'm having a spot of bother getting SteelSeries up and running - no matter what URL I use for "realTimeURL" the gauges stay empty. I've used the full URL, the root path, everything = still empty. I'm trying to get it running with the included realtimegauges.txt before I start having cumulus update using the realtimegaugesT template.

Any suggestions for something I might have missed?

Very nice, Mark  . On which scripts are the changes and does the current version on the first page include the change.

Hi George, it is just the steelseries library that has changed, and no I haven't uploaded it yet - there are a few other changes in there that I want to test out more thoroughly before I do. The shadow effect only applies to the 'standard' LCD colour, the other schemes look more like back-lit panels where a shadow would not be appropriate. A day or two I guess, I will have time in hotel rooms this week to play with it some more.

Thanks for helping out guys - here's the link, be warned it's on my personal box though so might be slow: http://208.84.148.188/trigonosweather/c ... gauges.htm

Is it a problem with my test machine - or the web browser I'm using do you think? I know my php, but when it comes to html templates and javascript, I'm pretty useless!

We're rebuilding our weather site, and redoing the cumulus templates we use - as I can understand Jacques' template files I'm using them as a base to integrate into our CMS - very exciting for us! And it would be great to use Steel Series instead of the default gauges!

Thanks in advance,

~CalonDdraig

The first problem is see is that you have removed the script version span from the HTML, so the gauges.js script bombs out at line 195 (I should have some error checking in there - I'll put it in for the next release).

Edit: Also the css files cannot be located, it is looking for

Thanks for the heads up on that - I must have missed it when copying the code into our template! Thanks for some brilliant gauges, they're really cool!

We will be sure to let people on this forum know when our new weather station site is up - it might be interesting for people wanting to integrate cumulus and Drupal.

Thanks again anyway!

All the best,

~CalonDdraig

No problem. You can comment out lines 80-83, 291, & 325 to get rid of those demo logos now :)
