Information please if possible

I am thinking along the lines of purchasing a WH 3081 station as it seems to have the UV sensor also the Solar sensor for solar radiation, could anyone who owns one of these stations if there is a data logger built into it, ie. if I was to shut down the pc for a couple of hours would I be able to pick up the weather data for that period.

I have an Oregon WMR200 which has a data logger but no Solar radiation sensors :bash: I can leave my pc off all night and still pick up the data from the logger.

Thanks in advance.

I use the 3080 and that does and looking at specs the 3081 does not sure what the difference is between the two models, got mine from signatrol using the discount code from Steve.

That device just charges the batteries, it doesn't give solar readings.

Yes I saw that Steve, just looking at the data sheet for a WH 3080, and wondering if I should go for it.

I "think" the only difference between the 3080 & 3081, is the same as previous models, in that the 81 does not set by radio, whereas the 3080 does

It's a bloody ghost town now mate, how long since you been back? all the shops are closed, is ok if you want an estate agent, charity shop or bookie, but thats about it. I live in an amazing area, i know that, but so glad i don't live in Holyhead, and thankfully in 10 days time, i won't be working there either

Hi,

Beaten by numerous others as I hammer at my netbook keyboard, but I may as well add my two-pennyworth. :)

Yes that "Upgrade" is only to charge rechargeable batteries, not to give Solar data (which needs a different base station to decode/display the additional data). Definitely not good value as a pair of Lithium AA cells may give similar lifetime (as the rechargeable Alkalines) for just a few Pounds.

I'm almost certain that both 3080/81 have loggers, but the 3081 does NOT have the automatic radio "atomic clock" setting.

If I was buying now, I might go for the 308x series, but I do have some doubts about the usefulness of the measurements. The illuminance is (or should be) weighted to the human eye (not for example to energy-saving PV cells) and the UV index seems to be such a critical measurement that I doubt if FO get it correct. ;)

Cheers, Alan.

Hi again,

It appears that Signatrol have dropped their eBay price to just £99 with FREE delivery (which is rather better than Steve's discount code). :o

I must admit, it's rather tempting. :)

Yes, I was just looking at that, not a bad price, just waiting to see if there are anymore replies to my original post coming in ref:-

1, Data logger, how many hours data will it store,

2, Is the conversion from Lux to W/m2 ok now in cumulus.

Just another question to add will the WH3080 talk direct to Cumulus or does easyweather software have to be installed as well.
