Download screen (b 1003)

Hi Steve,

1.
The download screen hung on 17:34

9-7-2011 20:24:40.027 : Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 9-7-2011 17:34:00 raindaystart = 56,8959999084473 rain counter = 56,8959999084473
9-7-2011 20:24:40.027 : WMR200: Out of sync; discarding

After a restart of Cumulus it downloaded the rest of the data.

2.
A minor issue:
Normally when you click on the green light it stops flashing (New record, All time record screen)
With the ‘Highest daily wind run’ it only stops flashing when you close the screen.

Was that the last message in the file? I've heard that sometimes these stations do 'get stuck' and just stop sending data. I could look at putting in some sort of check for this and automatically restart.

Thanks, I forgot to 'tag' the new LED correctly.

Yes.

Edit:

Probably a good idea. :)

I've just had the problem where the station stops sending data during archive download. But of course I didn't have the debug log turned on :bash:

I'll turn my debug log on and hope it happens again.

Why should you, it’s your first time as far as I know. :)
After the last time, no problems here with the downloads.

Steve,

It is probably best that I turn it on too. (I assume you use b.1006)
Should I use the program option (Configuration>>Debug log) or the option you gave:

Code: Select all

To turn the debug log on at start up, you need to edit cumulus.ini, and add a line to the [Station] section:

Logging=1
And what is best for you:
To delete the file every day if nothing happened or ??
I'am on vacation from Friday and the next 2 weeks so you may not here from me soon.

It's best to turn it on using cumulus.ini, as the problem happens at start up. You can then turn it off again from the menu after it's finished downloading, and delete the debug.log file.

Hi Steve,

Back after vacation, and wen downloading the data, it stopped 5 times. (for 14 days data)
But after restarting I good download everything, and that is better than WD or VWS, with those programs I would have lost all data after the first stop.
So for that already....

Build 1006

And here are the details and log.

Could you let me have the zipped diags folder as well, please, so I can correlate the debug log trace?

Thanks. It seems to send some garbage that Cumulus doesn't recognise (the contents of which I didn't log ) and then it asks for the next packet and gets nothing back. While it would maybe have been nice to see what the garbage was, I think I will just have to put a timer in and try to automatically restart if the data stops coming in.

For me it’s not a problem to restart if it happens, so a timer isn’t necessary.
But it would be interesting to see/know what the ‘garbage’ was..
Is there any way to for you to find out??

I've now added the logging necessary to see what it is. I've deliberately not being connecting my WMR200 so it builds up a good set of data in its logger; I'm hoping that I'll hit the problem when I next connect it.
