Nice gauges but no readings

Post by Trainman »

First off all, it´s some really great gauges. But I give up. There is no movement or read out from the gauges. Having read some previous posts about paths I have tried nearly any combination but have run in to a dead end. :cry: The full gauges-ss folder is uploaded. RealtimegaugesT.txt is proccessed and uploaded to kvistgaardvejr.dk/gauges-ss/realtimegauges.txt. I have modified the gauges.js to point at kvistgaardvejr.dk/gauges-ss/realtimegauges.txt. Somewhere I must have done something wrong. :bash:

Kind regards.

As you are uploading the realtimegauges.txt to the gauges-ss folder, all you need to do is set

var realTimeURL = "realtimegauges.txt"

I notice that there is a problem with your text file though :( I wonder if the tag format= command is failing because of your comma decimal seperator?

One of the more recent changes to the gauge code means they will only work with the latest beta version of Cumulus. Sorry, I hadn't realised this and made it clear :( This is why your realtimegauges.txt is incomplete, as it includes the new <#timeUTC> tag.

So, not only do you need to change the realTimeURL, but you need to upgrade Cumulus too in order to get them to work.

I was just about writing a long story when you answered. I´ll upgrade one of these days. And hopefully it will help. By the way I did it right from the start, but offcourse if I need and upgrade, I could spend all night tweaking paths :lol:

I see you are picking up the text file OK now. If you feel like making the gauges work with version 1.9.1, then edit gauges.js, and change line 630 from

var then = eval("Date.UTC("+cumulus.timeUTC+")");
to
var then = now;

and you should be good.
