Hi Steve, never had this error message before, "Data input seems to have stopped!!"
started at 6am approx this morning....
Running build 1002 restarted Cumulus and seemed ok, then copied over the backup files from yesterday to bring it up todate to get rid of the flat lines...

It's recent addition (build 999)...
to get rid of the flat lines...
... to warn you about this very situation. Your station presumably stopped responding. There's also an option to restart Cumulus automatically when it happens.

If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll have a look; but I suspect that it will just show that the station stopped responding. If you got flat-lined data, then it wasn't a false alarm, as in Jason's case with his La Crosse station.

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply, yes it stopped responding and the last data read was at approx 6am, I've never had this happen before, except when I had moved the console and never noticed the cable had come out from the data logger but this time that was ok as fired up Cumulus and was fine, main object of the message was just to let you know it happened...

Yes, the Davis DLL just started reporting that it couldn't read data from the station:

06/07/2011 06:14:58.136 : VP2: LoadCurrentVantageData_V, error = -32701

But it was presumably some sort of software issue (in the DLL, or the USB drivers, or...), rather than a physical problem, if a restart of Cumulus cleared it.

Weird.... all the time I've been running Cumulus never had this problem where its loses the connection (first happened in build 1002) and again today it happened again this morning, so just clicked the box for the restart option (maybe I should have had this ticked) and it restarted cumulus, but of course it never went back and filled the missing 8 hours so just copied over the backup files and about to restart Cumulus b1003 I'll hold off with the lastest after seeing your comment about bugs

Well, any Cumulus beta will most likely have new bugs. My comments in this case were really about the NOAA reports and other additional functions. Little that affects the standard functionality has changed.
