Extra Sensors Build 1000
I have just downloaded build 1000 and set up my extra sensors to my WMR200 base station, they are being rotated on the "Solar" section, great, just one question I have, I have set up the sensor names in the program but on the display they are still showing as "Extra sensor 1, 2 or 3" can the actual names that I have given these sensors show on the display?
Regards,
Geoff

Re: Extra Sensors Build 1000
Those are presumably the old WMR928 extra sensor names on the display settings that you're changing? The 'new' method for configuring strings in Cumulus is via a strings.ini file, so I've used that for the WMR200 captions. If you look at the samplestrings.ini file in your Cumulus folder, you'll see the new items that aren't mentioned yet in the wiki, and it should hopefully be obvious what you need to do.

Re: Extra Sensors Build 1000
By god Steve you now have me worried, at 70 years old and computer illiterate I would not know what to look for, probably end up doing more damage than good,
so maybe I will let things stay as they are

Geoff

Re: Extra Sensors Build 1000
Copy the file samplestrings.ini in your Cumulus folder to a file called strings.ini (in the same folder). Open strings.ini in a text editor, and look for this section at the end of the file:
[ExtraSensorCaptions]
Solar=Solar
ExtraChannel2=Extra Channel 2
ExtraChannel3=Extra Channel 3
ExtraChannel4=Extra Channel 4
ExtraChannel5=Extra Channel 5
ExtraChannel6=Extra Channel 6
ExtraChannel7=Extra Channel 7
ExtraChannel8=Extra Channel 8
ExtraChannel9=Extra Channel 9
ExtraChannel10=Extra Channel 10
Change the captions on the right hand side as required, e.g:
[ExtraSensorCaptions]
Solar=Solar
ExtraChannel2=Kitchen
ExtraChannel3=Greenhouse
ExtraChannel4=Extra Channel 4
ExtraChannel5=Extra Channel 5
ExtraChannel6=Extra Channel 6
ExtraChannel7=Extra Channel 7
ExtraChannel8=Extra Channel 8
ExtraChannel9=Extra Channel 9
ExtraChannel10=Extra Channel 10
Save the changes and restart Cumulus.

Re: Extra Sensors Build 1000
Hi Geoff, just copy the samplestrings.ini file, then paste it back into the same directory, which will probably then be called something like copy samplestrings.ini in XP from memory. Rename that file to strings.ini ... thats the file you need to editgeoffp wrote: I have found the "samplestrings.ini" file but I cannot find the "strings.ini"

Re: Extra Sensors Build 1000
There are unfortunately a number of facilities in Cumulus that require a bit of poking around 'under the bonnet'. It's really a trade-off between providing new facilities and spending a lot of time doing nice interfaces to make them easy to use.
