the outside sensor on my WH-1081 is showing 99%, and has been for some time by the looks of it
- No , it is not raining and should be showing about 55%-65%
any ideas how to fix it - or anyone else had this problem
had the sensor case apart and nothing obvious like dirt or moisture

Simplest repair is to carefullt lift the radiation shield cover and slide a new outdoor unit under it. I'm sure it's not what you want to hear, but I don't think anybody has successfully repaired this type of failure. Fortunately, you can buy just the transmitter unit and usually fairly cheaply.

Had the same problem myself when i first set up my wh1080, humidity stuck at 99%, after about a week batteries died on the outside sensor. Changed batteries, still nothing. Took batteries out of main display unit and reset everything as if for the first time and everything working perfectly since.

you wouldn't want to know - yesterday about 10am the unit started showing an outside humidity of about 10%
but alas - it is now back up to 99%
anybody know how much a new outside sender unit is ?

In the UK, they're 20 GBP, about 30 AUD.

Sounds like a hot soldering iron to the solder joints in the transmitter might make a difference?

showing 70% this morning - still too high - should be in the 50's
but we might sit tight for a while and see how it goes
thanks for that Steve - will have a look
wish i could afford a new solar powered unit
