Setting lat/long in cumulus

Post by mayo.mick »

Hi steve, first time posting so i hope i'm in the right place.
I recently bought a weather station from maplan n96fy, from what i've read in here i think its a WH 1080/81?
The problem i have is when i try to set the lat/long for my location it keeps reverting to 54.34.32 N 9.35.30 E which is somewhere in mexico :o
Any help would save the remaining hair that i have left

Yes, that's right.

54° 34' 32" N, 9° 35' 30" E is in Germany; Mexico is West of Greenwich.

But anyway; you haven't said what your co-ordinates actually are. Taking Castlebar, which according to Wikipedia is at 53° 51′ 38″ N, 9° 17′ 55″ W, so you put it into Cumulus like this:

Cooridanates are lat: 53.94326782N long: -8.95304775W
What i enter is 53 94 32 N -8 95 30W
Every time i enter this it reverts back to 54 34 32N 6 24 30 E

Thanks,
mick.

You're trying to put decimal degrees into a form that's asking for degrees/minutes/seconds.

53.94326782 degrees is 53° 56′ 36″ N
-8.95304775 degrees is 8° 57′ 11″ W

Hi there, I am a new user and this was the best thread I could find.
I am in Australia and trying to set my location and Cumulas will not allow me to add the correct location?

Here is my correct location
-43.026518
147.259101

-43-1-35.4648
147-15-32.763

Here is my current setting in the application and I am unable to insert the minus

Thank you for any assistance that can be provided - maybe I am just missing something?

You can't use a minus sign, you have to give your 'hemisphere' - as discussed earlier in this thread.

-43.026518 is 43 1 35 S
147.259101 is 147 15 33 E

Thank you much appreciated :)

I think it may have been a case of reading too much too fast...

Thanks again!
