CPU Usage

Post by ADM »

Hello,

Just installed 1.9.1, build 989 and it seems as though CPU usage is constantly around 9% to 11%. WD uses almost nothing.

Is this normal?
What is Cumulus doing?

I have disabled wind gauge animation and at this time all ftp activity is disabled.

Many thanks!

Most of the time, it's in the Davis DLL.

On the low-spec system that I run it on (with a VP2) it uses between zero and 5%, with the wind gauge animation disabled. On my higher spec system, with a non-Davis station, it sits at zero most of the time, occasionally registering 1%.

What spec is your system? Do you have a USB, serial, or IP connection to your VP2? What problems are you seeing as a result of the CPU usage?

Hi,

Here same issue only a CPU load of more the 45% sinds i have update the old version to 1.9.1 with the wind gauge animation disabled.
I use at this moment a David Vue in combinatie with Virtual VP on a Windows XP machine.

I see in Virtual VP that the serial connection is not realy used by cumulus (one time a 10 or 15 sec), so where can be the problem of this high load?
I like to hear it.

Hi,

Here same issue, i have sinds this week update the old cumulus software (from 1.8.9 to 1.9.1) and have the same cpu load problems.
At this moment i have the next configuration:
- Davis Vue
- Virtual VP for Cumulus and Weatherlink
- Windows XP PC

And a CPU Load of 45 to 55% for only Cumulus.
I have disable the animation but with no result so wat can i do to it to solve the problem.
(is it possible to download the old software for the time )
I like to heat it.

When you install Cumulus, it shows you the readme.txt file and asks you to PLEASE read all of it. It contains important information. You can find a copy in the Cumulus installation folder.
