Two consoles on one station
Hi!
Is there someone who try that... having a second wireless console to follow outside sensors (complete station from 1st console)?
Then, 2 consoles, but one station (same brand/model).
And if I mount 2 complete weather stations in the same backyard... will the stations signal be mixed or interfered?
Thanks,
Jacques

It works. Mine is a model of the FineOffset brand. When I bought it they offered a 2nd console for only a few dollars more. I've been running both for over 2 years with no problems. Only one is connected to my computer, the other one is in my living room.

Two consoles on one station will work fine. The console is just a receiver like a radio, I guess you could have 25 if you wanted.

Jacques, 'technically' you can/could have has many receiving stations (consoles) as you want...
Unfortunately, only professional weather stations (such as the Davis Instruments Vantage Pro and Vantage Vue) can/could/would allow you to have more than one ISS (integrated sensor suite) (the outside sensors and transmitting unit) in the same area thanks to adjustable transmitter ID switches.

The new Accu-Rite weather station (that looks like a Vantage Vue) has a switch that allows three units to be used at the same time. That complete unit costs less than $100US, and is now available at Walmart here.

Indeed, there is a switch inside both the transmitting unit and the receiving unit allowing for a change of ID...Gulfcoast wrote:The new Accu-Rite weather station (that looks like a Vantage Vue) has a switch that allows three units to be used at the same time. But, can any of the Acu-Rite weather stations be connected to a computer?

Hi
I've check for FineOffset re-branded model, because National Geographic 265nc is a F.O.1080
I've made a "deal" with Thermor Canada, importator of F.O. in Canada, they will ship me a free 265nc this week for Météo du Québec project "on oven" and a new color console model by the end of the year.
Over time I'll have a "few" stations and was curious about having more than one station on the backyard, I'll probably do some tricking inside the 265nc, but for the future 283bc... I'll hope channel selection.

I'm told that Accu-Rite is working on that now, should have something out to connect to computer later this year.
Now, back to the post topic...

Re: Two consoles on one station
Hi,
It's a good news to see more choices for personnal station. In Canada it's relatively rare. We have Oregon, LaCrosse, around $250 for complete station ... and Thermor with the National Geographic 265bc at $100... but was not able to buy it "on floor"... have to buy it by Internet.
Then I think it have some place for others!
(But some headache for Steve!
)

Re: Two consoles on one station
Jacques, as you indicated, in Canada there are not many retailers of weather stations other than large surface stores such as CostCo, CanadianTire, Wal*Mart, etc.
But we (in Canada) have an online retailer (also with a front-end store and very competitive prices) in the maritime province of Nova Scotia, more precisely in the Town of Mahone Bay: For the Birds Nature Shop
Even looking at our southern neighbour, and considering that their population is more than 10 times ours, the number of weather station distributors (front-end store and online) is not as large as we think...
Weather stations is still a 'niche' (limited) market ... although, with the introduction of lower-priced weather stations, more and more people a buying units...

Re: Two consoles on one station
Hi,
Like you said there is not a wide choice in Canada... Cheap stations are available on Walmart, etc... but on bigger cities, personnaly I've not saw complete station in mid-size city... have to got it by web!
In web there's quite a few retailers... you mentionned "Fot the birds nature shop" retailers of Davis stations. But a broader range of stations are available in the "astronomia" market, one of the best in Montréal La maison de l'astronomie (Web Shop).
But the market will evoluate since Honeywell, UPM, Thermor and others have all new models
