Urgent advice needed - Vantage Vue or WMR200?

Talk about anything that doesn't fit elsewhere - PLEASE don't put Cumulus queries in here!

Yes my WMR928N reports all 360 degrees. I'll check that, although wind measurements at my site are not that accurate due to site limitations. I am erring towards the Vantage Vue at the moment.

Thanks for all your advice - I have taken the plunge and ordered a Davis Vantage Vue with USB datalogger. I decided to opt for quality over quantity.

My plan is to run both stations, which will allow me to keep my current site (run using my WMR928N with Weather Display) in operation whilst I test Cumulus on a different PC - should be an interesting project. It will be interesting to see how the data compares.

Ive spent the past week setting up the Vantage Vue - all went well apart from the fact I had to change my console as the display on the original unit was faulty. Everything seems to be up and running OK with Weather Display now (although the latest monthly data has been messed up in recent updates...!).

My next project is to test out Cumulus with my original WMR928N system - if I like it I will consider making the switch to Cumulus.

And Brian (Windy of Weather Display) - please don't get the hump again about my posting in this forum. I think Weather Display is fantastic software but my only criticism is the number of updates which seem to mess up configurations which were working perfectly beforehand. How about a separate beta testing section for those willing to test the new updates, which should only be released to general users once ALL errors have been thoroughly tested and eliminated?

I will post my Cumulus experiences here in due course.

Cheers,

Simon

Simon, being a live-at-home father, I did not think Brian would have enough time to even bother 'perusing' the Cumulus forums - I guess he has been checking for himself what was all that talk about Cumulus...

Whether Brian reads this forum or not, it's inappropriate to be discussing him, his personal circumstances, his software, or the level of support that he gives, here. So please continue this elsewhere.

Thank you!

That's fair comment Steve. In fact since writing my original post in the thread above, Brian has been extremely helpful in helping me to resolve a problem I was having with webcam video creation which it seems was caused by my slow PC rather than the software.
