Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

I haven't put the code in for the forecast yet. Both the forecast and the pressure trend should hopefully be working in the next build.
Some other forums have speculated that the WMR uses the console temp in it's calculation of SLP
Ah, that's interesting. I'm at sea level anyway so haven't seen the effects of the station's SLP calculations, I was just going by information I've found on the web. If the station isn't simply doing QNH for SLP, then I will have to read the station pressure and convert to QNH for CWOP.
DigbyDave wrote:As for the disappearing title, I have tried restarting both 993 and 994. 994 is missing the header, 993 is not.
I'm afraid I have no idea why that's happening, I can't reproduce it. It can't be a colour problem, because the sunrise etc stuff uses the same colour. What string do you have in the 'header' box in the display settings in 994? Is it writing it to cumulus.ini correctly? It should be here:
In both installations. Yes, I am running 2 installations in 2 different folders, all settings are common other than station type and upload options. I thought they may be interfering re display, but launching 994 by itself results in the same problem.
That's odd. I wonder if there's a bug where changing the background colour changes the colour of the heading caption. I know I spotted a similar bug with another caption a while ago. I'll investigate.
If you change the heading colour, does it come back again?
Don't pull your hair out over the display problem. Looks like a computer kick in the pants solved that little issue. And the 2 installs are happily running side by side again.

I've looked through the code and I can't see any problems with the setting of either the caption or its colour, so I'm baffled. If you change the caption in the display settings, does it come back?

Are you running two copies at the same time with the same weather station? Normally that would cause problems, but as the WMR100 protocol is pretty much read-only, I guess it might work. I'm not sure both copies will be seeing all the packets, though; I don't really know how the USB code works.
One install is seeing the WMR direct (994), the other (993) is still using the WUHU / easyweather.dat / setup that I created some time back to enable me to use Cumulus.
As for running in parallel, assuming you are using the standard read functions, it shouldn't be a problem. I have been using VWS/WUHU/WSDL all polling the WMR up until now, what's one more to add to the mix, they all have their own benefits.
Hopefully once Cumulus is stable I can ditch a couple. Obviously 2 Cumuluses will not be necessary, VWS is going as soon as that happens (was the first and has my historic data - still working on a way to get that somewhere else). WUHU will no longer be necessary (tho I am using that to feed my weather DB and like it's data template flexibility and AWEKAS). WSDL, sorry but I still prefer WSDL graphs and it gives me QNH pressure correctly and calculates true MSLP from QFE.
No problem - it looks like nice software; I don't have any issues with people liking good software. And if you have the ability to run multiple programs, then why not.
and it gives me QNH pressure correctly
Cumulus will do that too, but only via the <#altimeterpressure> web tag.
and calculates true MSLP from QFE.
That's an interesting thought; it wouldn't be too hard to provide an option to do proper MSLP for those stations that don't.
Steve, looks like there is some anomaly with the station name display, see attached picture. Part of the station name has been "blanked off".
UPDATE: It looks like it can refresh itself by going into "View" - "Highs and Lows" - then selecting one of the options, which effectively overlays the table over this part of the screen and on closing it, the full station name has reappeared. So, some kind of graphical refresh issue????
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
I think it's something to do with your screen resolution; it's trying to resize itself as best as it can to fit, which is why your display looks a bit poor. But I'll see if I can improve the title a bit, I may have accidentally resized the box. What is your screen resolution?
Edit: Actually, you may be right, it may be a redraw issue. This may be related to the problem that Dave was seeing. I don't have any control over the redraw, though, so it's likely there's nothing I can do about it. I installed a release of the third-party component pack, of which that label is one component, just before build 992. It's possible it's a bug in that release of the component pack, but no-one else has reported a problem, and I don't seem to be able to reproduce it.
