Replacement rain guage for the Fine Offset WH1081 need

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement rain guage
for the FineOffset WH1081 from?

As my one keeps on stopping working i.e. all of a sudden
it stops registering the tips. I have to keep taking it apart
and putting a volt meter on it to kickstart it to work again.

Then a in a couple of weeks time it stops again.

I have made sure there are not obstructions i.e webs leaves etc..
but it still keeps happening.

If anyone knows where I can get a replacement one from I would
be very greatful.

why not just replace the reed switch? A few quid from Maplin, and they *do* go off...

Thanks for your advice.

I have already ordered a new rain guage yesterday, but will keep that in mind
for next time (hopefully there wont be a next time) ;)

I could buy a new reed switch for the old one so at least I have a spare
rain guage :)

Just a thought here. Is your raingauge cabled via a solar panel add-on to the thermo-hygro sensor (if you have one of course) or is there no solar panel? In the solar panel case the electrical connections for the rain gauge simply pass through the solar panel hardwired across the PC board (via surface-mounted IN-OUT RJ sockets). These points can be dodgy in that they go dry-joint due to movement. Try bypassing the solar panel completely and check if your tip bucket registers rain again. If that's the problem, grab a soldering iron and re-fix the susect RJ mounts within the solar panel. Worked for me!
