Odd temperature readings compaired to other local stations

Hi,

I have been noticing that my station has been giving high
temperature readings compaired to the average of other local
stations.

See graph below (blue is my stations readings, green is the average of local stations:

I have the temperature guages in a homemade stevenson screen with
a solar fan attached.

My readings have been closely tracking the average for quite some time
but recently the readings have started to get out of sync.

Does anyone know why this may be? could it be the batteries running
out and making the unit give high readings?

Weather station model: WH1081

Any help would be appreciated.

Could be any number of reasons I think. But I would look at the local environment first. Have surrounding trees and foliage come into leaf creating a more sheltered micro-climate around your sensor for instance? That is true for me, a sheltered garden tends to lead to higher highs during the day and lower lows at night.

That could well be the problem.

The thing I have noticed with the comparison against
local stations ON AWEKAS is that the local ones are not "That" local to
me.

If I look on Wunderground map at the stations nearer
me, I can see that I am in the same temperature region
as they are displaying.

The other stations that are further away that are used
as a comparison on the AWEKAS site show different
temperatures against the ones closest to mine.

As I would expect as these stations are geographically
located further away and the temperture could be different.

As you can see in the below Wunderground Map capture
Some of the stations that AWEKAS uses as comparison
(show in RED ellipses) are lower
than my station (shown in BLUE ellipse).
And the stations closest to me on the Wunderground map
(shown within the GREEN rectangle)
I am in align with on the temperature readings)

Out of interest I may just change the batteries to make
100% sure as well as use a mercury thermometer to
see if the tempetature readings on my station are
different.
