WOW pressures

I've just started uploading data to WOW (http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/latestobser ... eID=438973) and notice that the pressures are incorrect. On the WOW site, the station level pressure is displaying my current mean sea level pressure; and the WOW mean sea level pressure is too high (looks like the sea level offset is being added to the mean sea level pressure).

Is this misconfiguration my fault? The altitude figures in both Cumulus and WOW are identical (102 metres).

Hi

Welcome to the forum,

Did you read the release notes... ;)

Note that the WOW site is still in beta and there are a few things still to sort out. Notably, they have for some reason decided to require station pressure rather than sea level pressure. They then calculate SLP using the altitude that you have supplied. Cumulus supplies SLP for this, so the calculation comes out wrong. I have heard that they are going to change to accept SLP, so I'm leaving the code as it is for now. A possible circumvention might be to set your altitude to zero (on the WOW site).

Erm ... nope. I had a quick lookaround but didn't find any. Thanks for the link.

And so they should! I'll wait for them to make the change rather than tweaking site settings.

Thanks for your swift response and help :)
