Mark, I had Safari installed previously... But, as I mentioned in another forum, I am still in the process of re-installing Window 7 from scratch ... since some of the files (probably just a couple of files) in my main Windows 7 directory got corrupted after an unexpected system crash...

I do not know what caused the file corruption as no new software (nor update) had been installed for about a week! It was after editing some PHP scripts that things started to get odd (and those scripts are not even on the same hard drive), first with the editor not closing, then with the Apache server, and so on, and so on ... until I go, for the first itme in many many years, the BSoD... :x

I should have the Safari browser installed in the next hour or so...

... but not working in iPod Safari - the appearance is as it was originally in FF4; some gauges missing and it doesn't update. Unfortunately I don't know how to debug on iPod.

Hmm, just asked a mate to try it on his iPad2 and that works fine. My daughter has taken her iPod to school :(

Steve, does this help with the iPod?

It looks like it is in the same area as the FF problem before.

I found the setting to enable the debug console. The error is "JavaScript execution exceeded timeout" at line 4124 of steelseries.js

Thanks Steve, so it may work if I create a set of smaller pages for iPhone/iPod devices with only a couple of gauges on each page.

Yes, I guess they deliberately set the timeout low on ipod/iphone.

For anyone that is interested these gauges are Javascript/Canvas port of the SteelSeries Java gauges. The author is slowly adding features from the Java version to the Javascript (he just added min/max indicators this lunchtime!).

A Java demo page is here:

The authors blog is here:

Gerrit has updated the gauges to add max/min indicators, a new styling to the compass and configurable 'knobs'

The min/max indicators are designed to be dynamic and reflect the max/min reading for the 'current session', though I am only using them on the wind speed and rainfall rate gauges and setting them statically to 'todays' max values.

For the other gauges I am using coloured background sectors to indicate the current days range.

Oh, and I have added two 'Dark' and 'Light' preset styles to the page.
