WOW updating - so far so good

I've installed 1.9.2 beta and setup the WOW settings and it has done an update

I'm not sure how often I should update it -- Cumulus defaults to 15 mins. The graphs seem to plot every two hours. We shall see what happens over the coming hours

Installed and running here. I just made up the 6 digit PIN. is that what you're meant to do? That number together with my stationID was entered into Cumulus so I should know in the next 15 mins if it was successful.

Thanks David. It took a little while for Cumulus to upload its first observation but I'm now online.

That was one of the questions I asked them a long time ago - did they have a recommended update interval. I didn't get an answer.

It's gloriously sunny here, so those of you having rain, please keep an eye on the rain figures.
Note that for stations using 0900/1000 meteorological days, I'm sending 'rain since midnight' for 'rain so far today'. I'm not sure whether that's what they expect or whether they want us to stick to our meteorological days.

Cumulus unit settings and WOW unit settings are completely independent. Whatever settings you have in Cumulus, it will still send the data in the fixed units required by WOW for the upload. The units you select on the WOW site are those you want to be used for the display of the data; they seem to have a limited and inflexible choice at the moment (e.g. you can't choose mph for wind speed), hopefully this will change.

I've tried again today to upload a WeatherLink file containing archived data but WOW refuses to accept it. I can only imagine it's because it contains a mixture of Imperial and Metric values. They give no clue as to what 'rules' you have to adhere to other than providing a sample WL file that is purely Metric.
Steve, how much work would it take you to provide an archive option? If it's a significant amount then it probably isn't worth it. But I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to upload archived records. Mine go back to May 2009. I guess yours are even older.

You can upload the data that is currently held in your station consol by replacing the current data files with a backup from one of the cumulus backup folders, but don’t go further back in time than what is available in the consol or you will loose data.
First close Cumulus and backup the files you are going to replace just in case things go wrong. I did mine earlier and it worked ok.
