Well, I did try to help, but didn't get an answer to my question.

4269.5375 : 1:58:03 Updating WOW
4269.5375 : http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/automaticre ... %3A58%3A03

Is that time actually in the future? It's 15:58:03 UTC on the 28th, and your local time (if your PC clock is correct) is 01:58:03 on the 29th.

I've submitted several reports to the WOW beta team via their web link but not had a single acknowledgement for any. Surely they could find the time to respond to suggestions and comments if it's in beta? It's quite disappointing.

Has anyone else had a reply?

Yes, I received a reply from the Met Office individual who had posted here, earlier.
I had asked about wind speed being expressed in mph.

The response was that mph would "be incorporated in the station data".

Thanks Sunfish. The difference was yours was a question whereas mine were observations or things that I thought needed changing.

Apparently it doesn't tolerate my PC clock being set 5 minutes fast (so I'm not late). I changed my PC clock to auto-update from an NTP server and hey presto, it works. Be nice if there was a work-around though.

That's rather draconian, I'd have thought a slightly greater margin would be acceptable.

One feature I do like is creating comparison graphs with other sites. Here is my and Ray's temperatures compared

I must visit you one day. I'm curious why you get colder nights and warmer days. I'd expect that for a sheltered site but I consider my own to be well sheltered. The 'Lindow' factor should, I'd have thought, give you warmer nights and cooler days.

Interesting nevertheless.

My wow site doesn't seem to be updating the last time it got any data was 25/06/2011 10:59 although the graph shows the correct data and times.

Just to add that the old data is in the latest observations page that has the graph underneath it

It's updating fine; it's probably your browser (WOW seems a bit fussy at the moment) or a caching issue.

Well at least we agree on temperature twice a day
My sensor site is far from ideal, but I have plans to move it.

Edit: Interesting that my over night temperatures match quite closely with the nearby 'official' Woodford airfield readings. My daytime readings are higher as I expect from my sheltered garden and the proximity of a shed.

How strange Mark that your sheletered site has the same overnight lows as a very open site.

The best location for a shielded thermometer is over grass in a well ventilated area. I did consider creating a mini round flower bed in the middle of the lawn for the post holding mine but then decided it was impractical. Raising it to about 5ft has helped with air circulation. The daytime FARS has also improved things and a still sunny day a comparison of our daytime temps will be interesting.
