Data upload via dial-up internet connection

Hi Everyone,

I just started looking at Cumulus for a new installation at my cottage. There is no dedicated internet access there, so I want to be able to upload my data via a dial-up connection every hour or so then disconnect right away. I have searched through these forums but cannot find any information.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Is Cumulus capable of uploading via dial-up or is there some other scripts to do this.

Appreciate any responses.

Thanks

Terry

Cumulus used to have support for dial-up, but I'm afraid I took it out several years ago. I seem to remember that when I had a dial-up connection, you could configure it to do dial-on-demand, and then drop the connection afterwards. I'm not sure how the Cumulus ftp component would cope with having to wait until the connection was established, though.
