index.htm

I know this topic has arisen before but ...
The website works fine but interferes with my main one (within which I am trying to get Cumulus resident).
I have tried renaming the index.htm but Cumulus still produces one (but zero kb).
I have tried directing the index.htm to another directory on my website but Cumulus renames it index.htmtmp.
Any advice gratefully received thanks.
Terry

If you look under the c:\cumulus\web directory you will see a file called indexT.htm
That's the one you need to edit to make any changes to your web index file

Thanks yours ...
Tried that but still no joy. The file ended up on my website as index.htmtmp!
The other index file (under Cumulus) delivered a 0kb again.
Oh well ... if at first you don't succeed ....

If you do not want the standard index.htm file to be uploaded then you have to deselect the option to "Include standard files" in the internet setup, and then list individually the files you do want processing and their destination filenames. This gives you the opportunity to rename the index.htm file to something else - weather.htm for instance. Don't forget to change the links at the bottom of all the template files to the new page name.

If you are using a different 'resident' index page, but would like to include Cumulus, then it is easier and avoids any possible conflicts if you create a sub-directory for all the Cumulus uploads.
eg. mysite.org/weather/
Then on your existing pages put links to weather/ (for the Cumulus index) or weather/trends.htm for specific pages (Cumulus links within its directory will not need changing) - but ... On your Cumulus pages you would need to add links back 'up' to your normal pages.

Yes, the system was designed (well, that's a lie, I didn't put too much thought into it, and it's still somewhat inflexible) so that you would either have the Cumulus index.htm as the 'main' page of your web site, or you would put the Cumulus pages into a sub-folder.
