Re: How to set up Cumulus onto web Dummies Guide???
Into the directory on the ftp server which corresponds to the place you want the web site to appear. Either into the 'root' if you want the Cumulus pages to appear at the top level on your site (e.g. http://my.domain.com/) or into a subfolder which you create within the root, if you want to put other things in your web space and you want Cumulus to be just a part of that (e.g. http://my.domain.com/weather/).StuartaGray wrote:Where do I put the cumulus files with the FTP tool? what directory?
The directory that corresponds to the 'root' of the web site varies depending on the host; they should provide you with this information.

Hi steve I think I have cracked it. my site is cardendenweather.freeglo.co.uk I got the guy from glovine to help. Seemingly I had to place my files into public.htm instead of the root.
This site was free if you want to add it to the wiki site.
cheers for all your help

Stuart,
I entered http://www.cardendenweather.freeglo.co.uk and it didn't show your weather site.
Can you supply the link that allows you to see your site?
Later: I've just found your site from another message. http://www.cardendenweather.freeglo.net
But it's lacking the look and style of standard Cumulus pages. Is that deliberate?

Stuart,
As Steve mentioned earlier the Wiki is helpfull and also the help files. I knew nothing about ftp, uploading, etc. but once I had my domain and GoDaddy in place I printed the documentation and followed every step by step and to my surprise it all worked. Then the fun begins.

Re: How to set up Cumulus onto web Dummies Guide???
You must have all the settings in correct to have done one update, so it should just be a case of having 'auto update' ticked in the internet settings. How did you get the pages that there now? Did you do a manual update using File | Web update from the menu, or was auto-updating working until 21:40 last night?StuartaGray wrote:The cumulus updates constanly through the software. The bit before 'weather' is taken from the location name in the station settings. And another thing how do I change the name it says WH1080 Weather how do I change it?

Re: How to set up Cumulus onto web Dummies Guide???
He possibly didn't understand how the Cumulus-generated files got there. Do you have the correct path configured in Cumulus, or is Cumulus still uploading them to the wrong place? What directory path have you configured? From what you said earlier, it sounds like it needs to be "public_html".StuartaGray wrote:The live help guy said I had my files in then wrong place and transfered them for me including the image.
