Yes, a lot of people use these. One problem with these sites is that you're constrained to the format of the sites concerned. Many people like to have their own sites as well as those, so that they have more control over how the site looks.Ridgekid wrote:1. Regarding the gadget (or any other add-ons written by other people), you need to ask whoever wrote it for help (in the relevant thread). I just do CumulusI'm finding it difficult to install a gadget on my desktop (using windows 7) or finding a way to broadcast my weather station with your site. Don't you have any links for "click and install"? I'm not smart enough for script writing or editing.
Currently, 1 of our British Pounds is about 1.60 of your US dollars. Also would love to donate. What is the conversion to US dollar?
I'm afraid I know nothing about it, I didn't write it, a Cumulus user did. You'll need to ask them. But as far as I know, Windows 7 gadgets are indeed "click and install". It sounds like you may have extensions hidden in Windows and so the file still has a .zip extension.Ridgekid wrote:Regarding the gadget. Is there a click and install program for this? I tried your .zip file and even renamed it .gadget. It doesn't install. It just opens the file showing me the zipped files. I don't see a .exe file.
You could still be on the map and use your Weather Underground site (for example) for the URL; a number of people who don't have their own sites link to their WU data from the map.Broadcasting on your site: I gather from what I'm reading, I need to find a site to broadcast on? Then cumulus will will reconzie my weather station? I wanted to get on your cumulus weather map. It looked like western Pa was a little bare for weather stations.
Oh, that's strange. I'm sure that others use WU as their link, and I don't have a problem with that. As long as the data is provided by Cumulus; some cheeky people have used the map in the past to link to sites for other software! I'll have a word with Kevin.Ridgekid wrote:No such luck. Kevin Reed from Tnet replied: "wunderground is not a valid URL for a personal weather station on the
Cumulus user list. Please resubmit with a personal weather station URL."
