No Wind Speed

Post by apenwith »

Hi All

I found my wind speed record stopped at 2100 last night. I have a spare anemometer head so I plugged that straight into the transmitter - still nothing. Just to check the head was working I plugged it into the rain slot (both just use the centre two wires) and the rain counter went up so the head was working. I also have a spare transmitter so the same procedure with that - still no wind speed so I guess the fault is in the receiver though everything else is fine.
Regards
Alan

Hi
In the end it was the usual - corroded RJ11 connectors. Pain de-masting again.
Has anyone invented an easily accessible mast ?

Alan

Lots of vaseline to seal the connectors might help?
My mast is 1 screw holding it up. Undo the screw and lower it down. Being on the upper deck helps as you have all the space below to lower it.
Transmitter under the eaves so easy to change batteries, which are due for their yearly change.
