Cable extension

Post by West Howe Weather »

Hi everyone. I have a PCE-FWS-20 (WH 1081). Please can someone tell me if it is possible to extend (or buy ready made) the cable for the rain sensor.

I believe you can extend it with a standard RJ11 extension cable (suitably protected). If you search this part of the forum for "extension" etc, you should find others who have done it already.

Hi
I had to extend my wind sensors as a neighbour has set up a similar station and it caused data dropouts so my transmitter is now 20M closer to the house. I see no reason why the rain sensor would not work at a similar length. It uses only the centre two pins of the RJ11 plug so phone extension cable is fine.

Alan
