This morning I plug in my weather station to the PC and load up Cumulus to collect the overnight data, as I always do. Instead of sucking in and processing the data, I'm presented with the Station Settings window, instead. It looks as if all the settings to my station were forgotten by Cumulus and it wants me to set things up from scratch again.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there any way to reload the settings from some file or will I have to start over?
thanks.

Re: All settings reset to default
All of the settings are in cumulus.ini, and if it can't find the file, it assumes it has just been installed for the first time. You're running Windows 7 - which folder have you installed Cumulus in?
Are you sure you haven't done anything differently today, compared to what you normally do?

Re: All settings reset to default
Nothing different at all. There has not even been any updates ( I updated from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1 after the issue, thinking it might solve my problem). I found the ini file and it's the default one (of course, and I did not back up the previous ini file, only the weather data...).
It's quite perplexing to me how this happened. I have it installed on E:\Cumulus.
Guess i'll just redo the settings again, no biggie, just very odd....

If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll see if I can see anything odd having happened.

Re: All settings reset to default
Luckily I remembered that I had a six month old copy of the Cumulus folder on an external HD when I moved stuff to my new PC. I was able to retrieve that INI file and use it and am now up and running again with no issues.
I'm attaching the ZIP file to this post. Based on times, the 003 was the last successful run before the issue. 004-008 are the ones I tried this morning with no success. 009 is the latest, successful, one running 1.9.1 and the updated INI file.

Re: All settings reset to default
There's not much to see, other than the fact that something odd happened just after 07:45 yesterday - the end of the cumulus.003 file is corrupt. Presumably whatever caused that was also responsible for your cumulus.ini file disappearing - or, more likely, also being corrupted, becoming unreadable, and hence recreated with default values.
Did you have some sort of power failure or something similar?

Re: All settings reset to default
Nothing like that. It has happened in the past that Cumulus would not shut down properly and I had to force close, but not yesterday. I've since come to realize that happened when there was still an active upload to Wunderground (data catchup).
I think I'll chalk this one up to some oddity on my PC yesterday and leave it at that....thanks for looking into it!

Re: All settings reset to default
I always backup the whole c:\cumulus directory in my daily backups, not just the data folder.....just in case.
