As of 06:10 PST (or 14:10 your time) the temperature unit was still not showing inside the 'yowindow.xml' produced by your Cumulus ... thus the temperature in the YoWindow window showing in imperial measurements.mickopla wrote:Changed the webtag to <#tempunitnodeg> which fixes the xml but still i have US imperial units on Yowindow.mcrossley wrote:The XML is still badly formed because of the "°C" not being escaped. Re: YoWindow
Mick, I have investigated the HTML of the page where you have added the widget.
Unfortunately it is broken.
You need to adjust it in order the widget to display the weather in Metric units.
Here's how.
Change this:
<param name="flashvars" value="location_id=gn:2960992¤t_weather_url=http://www.waterfordcityweather.com/yowindow.xml">&time_format=24&unit_system=metric&background=#FFFFFF©right_bar=false" />
To this:
<param name="flashvars" value="location_id=gn:2960992¤t_weather_url=http://www.waterfordcityweather.com/yowindow.xml&time_format=24&unit_system=metric&background=#FFFFFF©right_bar=false"/>
Be careful, every character is important!

How do i get the temp unit to show? Do i need to add a value to the <#tempunitnodeg> tag?

Re: YoWindow
Either hard code it, or upgrade Cumulus to a more recent version latest is b1024 - I'm not sure the old beta version you are running (b1009) supports that web tag.

Re: YoWindow
I've checked it out. I'm impressed. I would like to have the widget have "floatLeftClear" applied to it in my website. Before I start playing with the code, I'm going to have lunch. mmmm. Would you have any suggestions on doing this?par wrote:You are welcome, Mick.

I noticed in the yowindow.xml file there is more data available than is shown on screen, eg rain today ext. I was wondering is there anyway to show this on screen, Tia

Re: YoWindow
Hey, friends!
Sorry for the delay...
MickinMoulden, please drop me an email to support@repkasoft.com and I will help you to setup YoWindow weather widget on your web page.
Mick, yes, you can display many PWS parameters inside YoWindow widget screen.
You just need to pass more flashvars parameters to the widget, to display rain rate, UV or snow level.
You will find a complete list of widget parameters and instruction how to set them at this page.
http://yowindow.com/widget_parameters.php
This is how YoWindow widget can look after you have adjusted the PWS parameters.

Thanks par for the reply. I managed to add Dew Point and rain total to my screen but can't seem to get Sunrise, Sunset and day length to work. Can you look at the code for me and tell me what i'm doing wrong. Cheerspar wrote:Hey, friends!

Re: YoWindow
The end of your parameters string is incorrect and may affect the way data is parsed.
currently:
Should be:
currently:
Code: Select all
i_dayLength=1& pass"astronomy"/>Code: Select all
i_dayLength=1&i_astronomy=1"/>......................Imagine, what you will KNOW tomorrow !

It looks like they are a 'sub-division' of astronomy.
addand it will work
EDIT - For information ONLY, the following suggestion DOES NOT WORK !!!
BTW. your xml file seems to not parse properly (in a browser)
It suggests
Should beIt seems to work, but that may be because in the parameters you have stated the units are metric.
