Cumulus 1.9.1 exe file corrupt

Post by sjukmidlands »

I just got email notification of the release of Cumulus 1.9.1 - but after downloading it and trying to install it, I straight away get a message that the exe file is corrupt. Just for info, I'm sure it will be sorted soon!

In the mean time I'll continue with the 1.9.1 beta

I've just downloaded it myself and it works fine for me, so I'm afraid I don't know what the problem is.

If you right click on the file and look at the properties, do you get the following for the file size?

Could you download this checksum generator: http://www.elgorithms.com/downloads/chaosmd5.php

Run it and feed the CumulusSetup.exe file into it, and post the resulting hex string here.

It should be B6DE4EC7B0813DE31EDD8BD13517AA62 so something has indeed corrupted it between my server and your PC. Have you tried downloading it again? What browser do you use? Do you use a download manager?

I have indeed downloaded it twice. using Firefox 4. I do use a download manager - although I've never had any issues with any downloads before from you when using it, but will download again now without using the download manager and report back...

I use Free Download Manager, but don't bother with it for small downloads, and I didn't when trying this. If I use it, it does indeed get corrupted. I'll have to put a note on the downloads page to disable download managers.

Hi Steve,

Yes it installed fine when I downloaded it using the inbuilt download manager in Firefox. For some reason downthemall was corrupting it, first time that has ever happened.
