FTP fails to start and the web site is not updated.

FTP to web server was working fine. I have rebooted the PC.

I have now turned off all auto updates. A manual Web Update
from the file menus says

FTP Error: FTP component already connected

The FTP server log show no attempt at connection has been made.
Command line FTP to the server works fine.

My assumption would be that there is a flag set when FTP is started
that has not been cleared for some reason. It thinks FTP is in use
but it is not. How can this flag be cleared/reset?

That error message (from the ftp component rather than Cumulus) isn't necessarily indicative of the problem.

Restart Cumulus with auto update turned off, turn on ftp logging and attempt a manual update. Attach the ftplog.txt file.

Fixed. It was an FTP problem on the server, it could not cd to the directory.
I was thrown by the error message. Thanks. Alan.

Yes, the error messages from the ftp component (and the server) are often not very helpful; it can be quite frustrating trying to find the real problem.
